Kids First Aid Courses

St John, in conjunction with Kidsafe Victoria, offer a course designed for parents, grandparents and carers to provide knowledge, skills and confidence in administering First Aid.

It focuses on the most common injuries sustained by children and how best to manage them.

Chelsea Beach Medical is proud to bring these Kids First Aid courses to our practice.

Welcome Dr Sarah McLean

Sarah has a keen interest in child health, travel medicine and Indigenous health. She has just returned from 6 months working from Cairns with the paediatric outreach team to Indigenous communities in Cape York and Torres Strait.

Sarah will be starting at Chelsea Beach Medical Centre on Monday 24th March and will be available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

It Is Nearly Flu Season

Here at Chelsea Beach Medical Centre we are offering Flu Vaccinations.

We are committed to your health and wellbeing, therefore we consider it important to 

think about being immunised.

Please give us a call on 9772 4849 to organise a time in one of our sessions. If seen in a 

session and no other health issues are discussed, the visit will be Bulk Billed.

The only cost will be the vaccine which is $15.00 per person and must be paid at time of 

immunisation.

 

Some patients are Eligible for free annual influenza vaccine

Eligible patients are:

  • People aged 65 years of age and older

  • Pregnant women, at any time during their pregnancy

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 15 years and older

  • Residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities

  • Any person over six months of age with a condition predisposing them to severe illness requiring regular medical follow-up or hospitalisation, including children aged six months to 10 years undergoing long-term aspirin therapy, and

  • People with: 

    • Cardiac disease

    • Chronic respiratory conditions

    • Down syndrome

    • Obesity

    • Immunocompromising conditions

    • Diabetes and other metabolic disorders

    • Chronic neurological conditions

    • Renal disease

    • Haematological disorders

Opening Day

We still can not believe it, but the day has finally come. We officially opened our doors today - Monday 13th January 2014. 

We are pleased by the turn out on our first day and was great to finally meet the locals.

From here, it is onwards and upwards!
