Bulk Billed Telehealth Appointments

Yesterday, the Government introduced the temporary expansion of Medicare-subsidised telehealth services for all Australians. The new MBS telehealth items will allow people to access essential Medicare funded health services in their homes.

Telehealth appointments will allow us to service patients without physical attendance at the practice, whilst minimising risks to themselves, other patients and practice staff from reduced waiting room attendances.

We’re glad to announce, effective immediately, ALL telehealth appointments (phone or video) will be bulk-billed at our practice.

In addition, we are actively moving towards these types of consults, but only where it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so. Face-to-face appointments are still available for patients that require it (e.g. physical examinations, vaccinations etc).

Our practice is and will remain, a proud mixed-billing practice as we believe this model allows us to provide the best level of care, time and attention to all our patients. We will review the bulk-billing arrangement of these telehealth appointments at the end of September, inline with the Government review of the MBS items.
